Welcome to the SHARING section of the GeoInteractive website. Here you will find a range of Geography resources sent in by teachers like yourself to use in your lessons. If you have contributed resources, please be patient, it takes a lot of time and effort to collate all the resources and get them online.

If the geography resources you are looking for are web-based, they can be used online or downloaded onto school intranets. Other types of resources such as worksheets, powerpoint presentations, etc. are probably better downloaded on to intranets or individual machines. GeoInteractive subscribers are free to amend or add to any resource.

Please be aware that the quality of the resources will vary but all should provide you with a starting point to use in your own classrooms. Many can be used as they are, but others will need to be adapted to meet the needs of your department and the students that you teach.

You can search for resources in different ways:

  • the website SEARCH facility - this will allow you to look throughout the website and you can search by geography topic, by type of resource or by key stage. Combine different words to narrow down your search.

  • the TOPIC index - this method can be used for the first 500+ geography resources loaded on to the website up to December 1st 2005 (referred to as Part I of the website).

  • the BROWSE index - this method can be used for the geography resources loaded on to the website January 2006 onwards (referred to as Part II of the website). There are tags or keywords to help you search.

Please find time to send in more Geography resources that others can share - short videos, podcasts, worksheets, lesson plans, work schemes, powerpoint presentations, wordmats, photos (singles or sets with a brief description), etc, etc. The more you share, the more everyone benefits.
